MQTT Nova Broker
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using MQTT Nova Broker ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.
2. License Grant
MQTT Nova Broker grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the application on your devices for personal and commercial use in home automation and IoT applications, subject to these Terms.
3. Intended Use
MQTT Nova Broker is designed to function as a local MQTT message broker for:
- Home automation systems
- IoT device communication
- Personal and small-scale commercial projects
- Development and testing of MQTT-based applications
The App is intended for use on private, secured networks only.
4. User Responsibilities
As a user of MQTT Nova Broker, you are responsible for:
- Securing your local network and connected devices
- Configuring appropriate authentication settings
- Managing devices and clients that connect to your broker
- Ensuring your use complies with all applicable local, state, national, and international laws
- Backing up any critical configuration or data
- Monitoring resource usage on your device
5. Prohibited Uses
You agree NOT to use MQTT Nova Broker to:
- Operate public or internet-facing MQTT services without proper security measures
- Distribute malware or malicious payloads through connected devices
- Engage in unauthorized access to devices or networks
- Violate the privacy or security of others
- Conduct denial-of-service attacks or network abuse
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Remove or modify any proprietary notices or labels
6. Security Disclaimer
MQTT Nova Broker provides basic security features including authentication. However:
- The App does not provide encrypted connections (TLS/SSL) in this version
- You are responsible for network-level security
- The App should only be used on trusted, private networks
- We recommend not exposing the broker to the public internet
7. Intellectual Property
MQTT Nova Broker and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by the developer and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws. The MQTT protocol is an open standard maintained by OASIS.
8. Third-Party Devices and Services
The App allows you to connect third-party IoT devices and services. We:
- Are not responsible for the functionality or security of connected devices
- Do not endorse or make any representations about third-party devices
- Are not liable for any damages arising from device malfunctions or security issues
Your interactions with connected devices are solely between you and the device manufacturer.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
MQTT Nova Broker is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement
- Warranties that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
- Warranties regarding the reliability or availability of the broker service
- Warranties that the App will meet your specific requirements
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MQTT Nova Broker and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
- Loss of data, messages, or configurations
- Device malfunctions or damage caused by connected IoT devices
- Security breaches or unauthorized access
- Business interruption or operational failures
- Any damages arising from your use or inability to use the App
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless MQTT Nova Broker and its developers from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the App
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any rights of another party
- Security incidents resulting from your configuration choices
12. Modifications to the App
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App (or any part thereof) at any time, with or without notice, for any reason. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the App.
13. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to this page. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the modified Terms.
14. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the App immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease.
15. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of your jurisdiction, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
